New Baby, New Stocking

Here's the stocking I made for baby Bryce! Not quite finished yet. The snowman needs arms. I used a freezer paper stencil to paint Bryce's name, then outlined it with a backstitch outline. For the snowman's face I satin stitched the nose and eyes and made little french knots for the mouth. I was inspired by Pottery Barn's stocking collection, but think that this guy might even be cuter!!

Advent calendar

Mom and I made this advent calendar while she was here inspired by one found in the latest issue of Family Fun Magazine. It's a city on a hill to remind us this Christmas season to let the Light of Christ shine through us to the world. Behind each door or window I'll be putting some sort of activity that we can do together to celebrate Christ's birth and to foster "light shining" in our neighborhood and community.

Striped skirt from 2 t-shirts!

I took 2 t-shirts and created this simple elastic waist skirt.

Smocks for the girls!

Here are some smocks that I made for the girls from a couple of short sleeved men's dress shirts. They turned out so cute that when the girls paint I have to keep myself from saying, "don't get your smocks dirty!"
